Other than getting a top 15 QB who is dynamic in the run/pass game, BYU addressed biggest needs via Tanuvasa, Akana and Gentry. The pool of proven RB's and QB's that would displace somebody we have on offense is pretty small and there are only so many of those. You also have to take into account you're talking about an 11-2 team and your worst returners relative to their position group nationally are your team leader(QB) and your RB room. You'd have to be bringing in Sam Leavitt or somebody equivalent to have it make sense and even then that person would have to earn it in Spring. You aren't gonna get a lot of takers
We got our splash transfers where we NEEDED new starters. Splash transfers we COULD have gotten would have had to come in and compete at positions where maybe you upgrade but you're also risking cohesion and potentential fallout the other way portal wise(QB, RB specifically.)
