This is the only navy-white-tan combo that looked good (looked awesome, imo, but doesn't scream "BYU"):

No idea why, if they were going to try and force the issue with this color pallete, why they didn't stick with that design above.  Maybe somebody in marketing knew they needed to sabotage the effort as it just wasn't BYU.  Anything that came after that one was flat out ugly.
