Arizona, and was huge in the win vs Baylor. He had already lost his starting spot and was coming off the bench in those games.
Maybe after the Arizona game he expected to gain back his starter spot, but held back a bit after that didn't happen. Up to that point, he definitely seemed to be hustling and playing within rhythm and passing the ball around as much as he was looking to shoot, and it had looked like he was ready to accept his role off the bench. He was even showing some positive emotions in cheering on the team from the bench at times during that mid-conference stretch.
And it could also be that the injury itself early in the WVU game back in Provo that actually did him in. From there, the team proved it could win big games without him and he probably realized how much harder it would be to get back as many of the minutes he had been getting, even off the bench, so late in the season, er post-season. And he knew KY and staff would be going after even more proven players in the portal this year that he probably does feel like he'd get more in game development and have a longer leash to learn from mistakes by going elsewhere.
