Always surprises me the variance in accepted manners and respect taught to kids
Even within an area or group of seemingly similar values and whatnot.

There are certain things I always just thought were standard respect.

Even as a teenager, I would never ever have helped myself to a fridge in someone else’s house, regardless of familiarity, or put my shoes all over their couch, etc.

None of the kids I hung out with growing up wouldn’t either. All respectful, and all from different backgrounds.

If you ever get to meet the parents, it often answers the question.
