huh? it absolutely did. The whole tenor of the game was changing at that moment. Alabama still wins big though.
There were 3 calls in a row that changed how the game would be played and the entire energy of the early first half. Of course it changed the game.

Disgraced NBA ref gambler Tim Donaghy speaks of it often - the refs know how to change the momentum of a game. And they do it. Sometimes on purpose, as appears to be the case with Tony Padilla. Google his name. Basketball fans everywhere hate him for exactly that - changing the game in almost every game he refs and picking a moment and making it about him. It happens all the time.
