It never fails to blow me away how much baseball history there is. The first pro
baseball team was the Cincinnati Reds in 1869! That's decades before basketball was even invented. And it was so well-established and popular a sport in the US that it was able to support fully professional teams even before American football was born (same year the Reds started playing professionally).

Couple that with the unique ability, among professional sports, of baseball to be played daily, between all leagues over time and worldwide, there have been literal millions of professional baseball games played in 156 years.

That's numbers the human brain has a hard time comprehending. Pretty dang cool. What an enchanting game.
