With 7:10 left in the game, Robert Morris took the lead vs Alabama 65-64...

I had a custom basketball GPT give me a summary of how Alabama closed out the final 7:10 to ultimately seal the game 90-81.

Obviously the flow of our game will be very different, but perhaps gives some insight as to how Alabama will attack us to close out a close game.

TLDR: After trailing with 7:10 left, Alabama closed strong with dominant paint play, clutch free throws, and tight defense to pull away from Robert Morris 90–81 — revealing how they execute in close-game situations.

Quick Summary:
After falling behind 65–64 with 7:10 remaining, Alabama closed on a 26–16 run, led by Mark Sears and Mouhamed Dioubate, with a focus on paint scoring, attacking mismatches, and getting to the free throw line.

Who Scored for Alabama (Final 7:10):
Mark Sears scored 11 points — made 2 layups and went 7-for-8 from the free throw line.
Mouhamed Dioubate added 6 points — 2 layups and 2 free throws.
Grant Nelson scored 4 points — both were dunks.
Chris Youngblood chipped in 2 points — both from free throws.
Labaron Philon scored 1 point — made 1 free throw.

How Alabama Scored (Final 7:10):

1. Paint Points – 16 points (62%)
Alabama dominated inside, getting high-percentage looks off cuts, drives, and offensive rebounds.
Dioubate, Nelson, and Sears were relentless around the rim.

2. Free Throws – 12 points (46%)
Alabama was 11-of-14 at the free throw line in the final 7 minutes.
Mark Sears alone went 7-for-8.
Aggressive drives and offensive boards created contact and forced fouls.

3. No 3-pointers
Alabama did not hit a single three in the final 7:10.
Instead, they went away from perimeter play and trusted their size and physicality to finish at the rim or draw fouls.

Trends & Keys to the Win:

1. Paint Domination
Alabama overpowered Robert Morris inside, scoring consistently with dunks, layups, and second-chance points.
Grant Nelson and Dioubate were key to this with physicality and hustle.

2. Free Throw Advantage
Alabama shot 14 free throws in the final 7:10.
Robert Morris only got to the line 4 times during that span.
That disparity came from Alabama's attacking style, forcing contact.

3. Elite Execution by Mark Sears
Sears ran the show late — patient, poised, and clutch.
Drew fouls, made plays in the halfcourt, and finished tough layups.
Scored or assisted on nearly half of Alabama’s final 26 points.

4. Defensive Stops & Rebounding
Robert Morris went 6-of-15 (40%) from the field down the stretch.
Alabama grabbed 8 defensive rebounds, many of them limiting RMU to one shot.
Dioubate and Nelson were key defensive anchors late.

5. Turnover Conversion
Robert Morris committed 3 turnovers during this span, and Alabama scored immediately after 2 of them.

Bonus: An analysis of how Robert Morris kept it close during the first 32 minutes, and how that changed during the last 7:10 (when the game was tied 65–64):

Timely Shot-Making:
Through 32 minutes, RMU shot 47% from the field and hit 6 threes, with Kam Woods and Amarion Dickerson making tough jumpers to halt Alabama runs. In the final 7:10, that efficiency dropped — just 6-of-17 from the field with only one made three.

Second-Chance Points:
RMU had 11 offensive rebounds and 10 second-chance points early. Alabama shut that off late, holding RMU to 1 offensive board and 0 second-chance points the rest of the way.

Ball Movement:
RMU assisted on 12 of their first 25 field goals (48%) — strong ball movement and decision-making. But in the closing stretch, they assisted on just 2 of 6 makes as Alabama pressured the ball and disrupted rhythm.

Tempo Control:
RMU successfully slowed the game for most of the night, limiting Alabama to 4 fast break points through 32 minutes. But Alabama sped things up late, pushing off rebounds and dictating pace down the stretch.

Turnover Conversion:
RMU capitalized on 10 Alabama turnovers early, turning them into 12 points. In contrast, RMU committed 3 turnovers in the final 7:10, and Alabama cashed in with 7 points — flipping that category in crunch time.

Paint Domination:
It was relatively balanced early, but Alabama took control late, scoring 16 of their final 26 points in the paint. RMU couldn’t protect the rim or match the physicality.

Free Throw Disparity:
Alabama shot just 6 free throws in the first 32 minutes. In the final 7:10, they went 11-of-14, while RMU attempted just 4. That +7 margin at the line sealed the gap.

Rebounding Control:
Early, RMU held their own on the glass. Late, Alabama cleaned up everything — winning the rebounding battle 11–6 in the final stretch, including 3 offensive boards that led to key buckets.
