During interviews, one journalist asked about the impact having a coach like KY has on recruiting with his NBA background. (1:00 in the video below).

Egor (about 2:30) flat out says that it is KY’s NBA experience and NBA focused model that is why he chose to come to BYU. He said “He’s the coach I want to play for.” We are so lucky to have KY, and Egor has been such a great advocate for the program. His growth from Providence to Wisconsin has been great - seeing how uncomfortable he was with the pressure initially and seeing how he’s handled it in the tourney l. He still has room for growth and his humility and earnestness will help him make the most of his experience at BYU.

I’m definitely a fan. He’s an easy kid to root for.
