Definitely some pop rock vibes, and so did Van Halen and sounds similar. Of course few people beat Eddie Van Halen on the guitar (some say nobody does), but David Lee Roth's band had some of the best of the best:

As a kid, I was crushed when I found out David Lee Roth left Van Halen, although I wouldn't have guessed I would love Van Halen with DLR and Sammy Haggar. But also DLR put out some awesome stuff:
