Seems like a massive inconvenience to me. When I travel it is hard to enough to manage the bathroom breaks from my kids. I can't image voluntarily dealing with this stuff for a dog.

Put your pet in the shelter for a few days and let everybody else travel in peace. Your dog isn't going to mad the he/she missed out on your trip.

Traveling is hard enough, why complicate it with an animal?
