My perception of things is that in the last 10-15 years things have been much better for professional athletes.

First, after CBA changes they have been left making a lot more money in their careers.

Second, I think athletes now are much smarter than the athletes in the 90s and 2000s when it comes to money. There has been a lot of awareness raised about athletes and money issues, and I think the environment and culture has changed for professional athletes in this regard. I think they get a lot more education and guidance about this.

But that is my perception. I could be completely wrong about this.
