There is a great story though, about Nicklaus talking off a shoe and sock to put his foot into Rae's Creek and hit a shot from the water.  Ben Wright says that he watched as Niclaus put his bare foot and leg into the water just feet from a (might have been more than one) water moccasin sitting next to the bank.
