So six of the SEC teams have been the higher seed, but that also includes an 8. There isn't really a distinction between an 8 or a 9.
There have been two upsets for SEC teams (if you count a 9 beating an 8, which isn't really an upset). That's offset by pulling out an upset with Arkansas over Kansas. So it sounds like the SEC is doing exactly how expected.
