We have 8 and 13 year old girls and a 15 year old boy. Will be traveling with my parents as well who like to travel slow/relaxed/lazy. We're doing all the animal stuff, Monterey Bay Aquarium, Sea World, SD Zoo, SD Zoo Safari; each one day. The perfect trip for our 13 year old who's favorite animals are Orca's and she wants to be a vet. The 8 year old should love it too.

We have one full day without plans and we'd specifically like to find something in SD that will be more focused on the 15 year old boy. Other shoulder time and food recommendations would be great as well. We'll be staying in between mission Bay and the ocean.

Also, Monterey is our fun stop on the way down from Oregon, but if anyone has thoughts on a good stop on the way back, I haven't found a good fit this time of year. We could power through, but might be nice to break it up.
