BBall team can find a way to win. Compared to UH, who is ranked 3rd (among 320+ teams) in Opponent FG% at 38.3 %, VCU is ranked 8th, almost the same at 38.8%. And VCU is actually ranked higher than UH in opponent 3 pt % at 30.4%, to UH at 30.9%, but the two teams are really close on both, and this VCU team is a team that has been to the Final 4, won the whole A10 conference, and made 15 3 pointers vs BYU. That's usually a recipe for disaster, when a team that good on defense, makes 15 threes. It's kinda like beating ISU at Ames with 29 TO's - hard to even fathom.
But BYU finds a way, because they have so many players who buy in to the team concept, and coaches who can prepare and adjust. And the key may be that the players have varied, yet complimentary skillsets, and sometimes one player steps up with his skillset, and another game, someone else steps up, and they all cheer for each other.
With those numbers vs VCU, we must just matchup better with them than we do UH, and this time it was Keita, Fouss and Demin that were huge (Richie's always huge)!
