How sweet it is to win a tournament game!! It's been 15 years since BYU won a first round game. VCU took away the 3 pointers and BYU took it inside. 28 free throw attempts by BYU with 19 makes. BYU had a 1.24 pts/poss offensive efficiency. Very good against a good defense like VCU. Kevin Young and the coaches are really good at what they're doing. VCU had 15 three point makes but that was double what they normally get. BYU was giving them the 3 and taking away the inside game. Excellent game plan.

Fouss and Keita are a huge big man duo. They had a combined 1.15 pts/poss. Keita controlled the paint with 4 blocks. Fouss is a force inside. So fun to watch those two play. An inside presence like Fouss is needed even with all the 3 pointers that get shot. Fouss probably needed to e more of a ball hog with his 1.22 pts/poss.

Knell and Baker played a very good offensive game. Those are 30 minutes between the two that were important. Very good shooting by the both of them.

Demin was just masterful out there with the ball. He only had 2 assists but he just was in control. It's been since Jimmer that we've had a lottery pick. We should enjoy having Demin for at least one more game. In the wide open game of the NBA, he's going to have a ton of space to run PnR and find teammates open.

It felt so good to get this win. It's been so long. Everything else is gravy from this point on for me!
