Overall, cautious optimism on their part, sprinkled with some fear and loathing
- They expect to handle Montana St.
- Hoping for a dogfight between BYU and VCU and if the Badgers face BYU, BYU will be exhausted.
- A lot of back and forth on whether Denver would be an advantage for BYU as it’s still far from Provo and the Badgers travel well. Still wish they were playing in Milwaukee.
Some quotes:
“I’ve watched BYU a handful of times this year and every time I’ve come away extremely impressed. They’ve got a bunch of good shooters and a big dude who rebounds as well as anyone. They’re not unbeatable but they will definitely be there in round two.“

“ They're also deeper than the Badgers. But for all that they're only a 2.5 pt favorite. Unlike us they'll have a dogfight in the first round. We'll have our legs back by Saturday. If we're strong on the defensive glass, we'll beat them. Frankly, despite all the poor shooting, the Badgers win today if they cleaned up the boards down the stretch.”

“ Univ of Montana is the same length drive to Denver as Madison is.
And for those saying BYU has a home game, it would be like calling a game in Columbus, Ohio or Kansas City a home game for the Badgers.
So it should be a true neutral site situation.”

“ I will bet you that there will be more Wisconsin fans than BYU. There are like 5 Wisconsin bars here. I’ve been to them. Go to a brewer Rockies game here and you’ll see the stadium dominated by Wisconsin fans.”

“ I REALLY hope I am wrong but I see this as a tough spot to get to the second week.
1. 4 games in 4 days then an early game at altitude. I still think we beat Montana but it's another game.
2. BYU is underseeded in my opinion. Closer to a 4. Used to playing at altitude. Well coached. Physical bigs that can come out to the perimeter.
Again, I really hope I am wrong but I think this was about as bad a draw as we could have gotten. I would love to know the rationale for putting Iowa State and Kentucky in Milwaukee ahead of us. I understand the simple answer is the S curve and I guess that just validates what others have said, conference tournament games on Saturday and Sunday just don't matter.”

“ Sara Tonje, John's mother, is an ordained Presbyterian pastor, thus Jesus will be spread evenly among the Wisconsin and BYU squads - assuming, of course, both teams get past their egregiously under-seeded first-round opponents.”
