He’s been on the UU’s wish list for years. While starting late will put him at a disadvantage the first year, he’s a great hire for the long term (as much as I wish that weren’t the case).

Also, while I think Smith was and is a good coach, hiring Jensen will generate excitement and likely pry open the purses of some big UU boosters, which were closed before.
