from crying foul every time we hear it. I think BYUs statement from years ago makes sense - we're aware of derogatory language that comes at us occasionally, but we're not going to have a prepared statement every time.

On the other hand, I'm the type of person who would want to know if something I say is flat out ignorant. I think that is how I would approach calling it out...'hey I'm a person who wants to respect others, if you're not that is your choice, but I do want to let you know what you said sounds hateful and targeted.'
