How does this work?
ISU was grabbing & pushing BYU. Houston just had unbelievably quick hands.
It seemed like BYU struggled to even get off basic passes or easy shots without Houston touching the ball.

Tennessee plays similar style of defense

Agreed, but Houston is in its own class. The stats back this up.

Have you seen Tennessee play defense? They could be better than Houston

Yes, I have. And disagree they are better than Houston, especially on D.

I don't know. Auburn looked like a clone of Houston.

Auburn is very good but not elite on D. They are a very well-balanced team.

Imo St. John’s is probably the best defensive team and are way more aggressive

St. Johns is close. And I see that on KenPom, but Houston is no. 1 in overall

What metric are you using to measure overall defensive efficiency?

I was looking at adjusted defensive efficiency on cbbanalytics and D-Rate on

I hope none of our opponents watch that film.

It’s not just a game prep strategy decision to play defense like that.

I know. It's also a philosophy.

I think Houston is a uniquely bad matchup. Those others would be very tough, tho

At least half of the SEC and a large number of other teams play like Houston.

Playing like Houston isn't the same as being Houston. And my take is just that

SEC isn't that bad outside of Tennessee and Ole Miss
