First, we have to start the game with confidence and hold our own during the first 5 or 6 minutes and not fall apart like we did today. Today we played real nervous to start, almost with the shakes and no poise. You cannot fear your opponent and we did to start.
Second, we have to shoot in the mid thirties on 3’s maybe closer to 40%. Nothing new required, just shoot your average.
Third, we have to avoid needless turnovers, likely ten or lower. Had too many foolish passes and travels as give aways today.
None of these are out of reach, even against a tough D like Houston’s. Just have to be patient and focused, with accurate cuts, screens and passes - and for heavens sake, stop wasting most of the shot clock by just dribbling or passing the ball around 30 feet from the hoop without any serious attempt to get in the paint.
