Now before everyone attacks me, you gotta understand that I like Demin. He played well in the non conference games and was really promising. He does have good passes (when he doesnt turn it over). I also understand that the big 12 has been more physical than he thought so I get the struggle but...
He picks up his dribble too soon. He doesn't drive to the basket enough and when he does he often turns it over. If he did do that I would open up the outside for mor 3's. Speaking of turnovers, I feel like he is responsible for about a 1/3 to 1/2 of all of our TO's (depending on the game.)
Demin has his moments but has never consistently done much in Big 12 play. His 3 pointer % is in the 20's and his decision making is t great. Yeah he does have a lot of assists and maybe he isnt a shot maker but i feel his weaknesses dont make up for that. Feel free to argue against me on this point but I feel like too many people are blinded by the idea of him going to the NBA that they ignore his weaknesses. Give him time to adjust and develop and I can see him being amazing. Just don't blind yourself by the dream that you forget the reality.
