My favorite KY moment from the game yesterday...
...came with 3:17 left in the game. From the 5 min or so mark to this point BYU had eked out a small lead going from an 80 all tie to an 87-82 lead but BYU had just given up a Dishon Jackson bucket on an offensive rebound putback to let ISU close to 84-87. In our possession we were a little out of sorts, ISU had trapped the ball and been extra disruptive and so we had nothing going with about 10 seconds left in the shot clock and Dallin well beyond the 3pt line trying to regroup.

KY didn't allow the team to waste that possession and called a short timeout. He got the team regrouped, they came out of the timeout, ran a play for Richie, he got fouled and went to the line nailing both FT's to push our lead out to 89-84. That's elite level situational coaching/chessmanship you get at the NBA level that you don't often see at the college level. It was a key moment in the game that in the past has often seen us lose control of games and the opposing team takes over. Not typically what we have seen at BYU for sure. Love the high level situational coaching we're seeing from KY and his staff, especially at end of games. Things like line shuffling between possessions during deadballs to get defenders in and then sub them back out for scorers going the other way are little things that add up to better outcomes in closing out games.
