Definition of "swatting". The action or practice of making a prank call to emergency services in an attempt to bring about the dispatch of a large number of armed police officers to a particular address.

Usually the "prank" call is stating an armed person is in the house threatening someone else. This leads to police breaking down doors, weapons drawn on the victim of the prank.
