I just went to a game a month ago where they didn’t have a stoppage for almost half the second period.

NFL is a different game. Anything longer than 5 minutes without a whistle in a hockey game is EXTREMELY rare.

Hockey doesn't stop nearly as much as football or baseball. It is much more along the lines of basketball.
