My brother has an adult son who is severely autistic and lives in a group home, but is a huge BYU fan. My nephew is a good 6' 3" and would have been a terror of a lineman (built like a tank) minus his disability. This is what happened the other day in my brother's words:

Took [son] to Special Needs Mutual tonight. Last time  I went they were all watching and singing to Disney sing along videos. 

 

So this week they were doing the same thing except watching this years BYU football 🏈 highlights and I noticed the guy in charge was just smiling the whole time. 

 

But instead of ending the meeting at the end he told all the kids they had a surprise for them in the cultural hall. 

 

So they all went in and sat down and about 10 of the BYU football team players come walking in!

 

They played with the kids and [my son] finally got to play football with the team. Made this Papas heart happy! 

 

He was highlighted and threw the ball to BYUs star receiver Chase Roberts, and got around Isaiah Jatta on a separate play (who started on the O line at the end of the year) to get to the QB.

 

The players even signed a paper that he handed to each of them to sign which I attached above.  

 

Chase Roberts and LJ Martin (star RB) as well as Jatta, Brody Schoonover (from AFHigh), Haunga ( the freshman star TB that also played this year),and even the punter from Australia 🇦🇺 signed it.

 

I'm going to get it framed with a picture of us and a BYU logo with it. The benefits of hanging out with the right crowd came in handy tonight!
