I’d look at the KC area — affordable, livable, good suburbs, and probably the highest density of LDS members in the Midwest.

Downside is no mountains and there are ticks, same as the rest of the Midwest. But ticks are heading further west in growing numbers anyway.

Northern Midwest has colder winters but nicer outdoors options, especially in the summer — Milwaukee, etc.
