They just filed permits to tear down Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit.

And a new coaster from Intamin is coming. Could it be the same (or at least a similar concept) to the one in the OP? Guess we’ll see.

I overall agree. Seems it's getting better, but never really compared to the Florida parks.
