I'm talking about offense and you brought up a defensive rule. I disagree
that eliminating defensive three seconds would make a big difference. Teams play with space now. There's almost never a reason to have your center camped out in the paint on defense. This is why teams can get away with small ball. It's why the league is trending towards most players being between 6'4'' and 6'8''. If you want to see greater variety, you have to give teams more ways to gain an edge with greater height. One way to do that is to eliminate basket interference. Teams can get away defending centers with shorter players because non dunk two pointers are low value shots. They'd be happy to give up those opportunities as opposed to open threes. But tipping in a ball on the rim is a high value shot. Teams would have to defend size with size to prevent centers from eating them alive.
