I grew up in Ohio and everyone, except my grandparents living next door, everyone had been born in West Virginia. I could just sit for hours listening to them speak with all the colloquialisms they used and heavy southern accents.
I had to work for a month in England once near Manchester at a plant we were auditing. At lunch time I stopped to talk with a few of the workers. That Bronx dude was at least somewhat understandable. I never had that much supposed English spoken at me with so little comprehension on my part.
