data do not confirm that he's truly biased against BYU, as was being touted (and I believed it also). But, maybe he's just a "bad ref." So many phantom calls tonight, it was ridiculous. Baylor players not even being touched, yet he saw a collision that didn't even happen. Every fan in the building could see his ineptitude, as could those seeing it in slowmo on TV. It's like he just making random calls out there, and is seemingly far too enamored with the theatrics of his job, than actually calling a fair game, and letting the players (rather than the refs) control the outcome of the game.
Luckily, BYU made just enough plays to overcome his ineptitude and win the game - but it's troublesome when you have to rely on good luck, more than good management and preparation. Must be really frustrating for coaches and players alike.
