When I first noticed him yesterday, I told my son - that guy is awful. He seems to have a chip on his shoulder against BYU. And I hate his style. You can tell he’s one of those my-way-or-the-highway guys.
I’ve watched Coach Young interact with the officials a lot this season because my seats are right by the bench, and several of them have had very cordial approaches, where they seem to be collaborating with the coach, and Coach seems to be heard when he tells them to watch for things, and when he gets an explanation, he seems satisfied that the call was fair.
Tony doesn’t do that, and you could see several times on the broadcast last night where Coach would ask him to come over and he wouldn’t do it. One time, Coach turned away from him in frustration and gestured his disgust.
Tony is a bad egg. That other old dude was similar. The numbers don’t lie. This is the kind of thing ADs should talk to the commissioner about.
Biased officiating is a real thing, and it changes the outcomes of games just ask ASU.
