I don't know why, there is nothing that indicates he will be better than Darnold, his college career had laudable
results, but Darnold really took a step this season and 14 wins isn't anything to scoff at. Sure, he lost to Detroit, and he lost to LA twice including this playoff loss. But the damage was done in the 1st half, he got zero protection, and even in the 2nd half, he was constantly under pressure or couldn't find open receivers.
And, to be honest, his coach calls the plays, and he wasn't up to the challenge against his old boss.
