Looking at kenpom ratings and simulating the season 1,000 times - on average BYU ends up with 8th highest conference win totals. Data from www.jthomanalytics.com.
Looking forward, ISU and Houston are really close competing for the conference crown. Kansas, Arizona, Baylor and Texas Tech make up the second tier - with West Virginia knocking at the door of being considered in that group. Below them there's a group of teams that are all really close in the third tier - BYU, Cincy, ASU, TCU and UCF - with Utah close as well. If everything remained as it stands now, leader of that third tier group would be #8 in conference. Colorado, KSU and OSU bring up the rear.
String some wins together and we can be positioned to be near the front of that group. But falter much at all...and since all look close right now we could drop towards the bottom quarter of the conference.
Chart below represents each team's conference games - with most difficult at top and "easiest" at the bottom. TCU loss for BYU was barely in the "easier" half of their schedule (#11 difficulty). They can get to .500 or better in conference if they win all the rest of their bottom half difficulty games and steal one of their more difficult ones (best candidates would be at ASU, home to Baylor or home to Arizona).
