Ability to pass even the first CFA exam. I’ve been in the business for 35 years. Never met anyone doing both the CFA and CFP together.
In fact, if I’m being brutally honest, CFA designation holders laugh at the CFP. If you want to be a financial planner just get the CFP because it is much easier. If you want to be a portfolio manager you get the CFA and the CFP is worthless.
The CAIA is very niche. None of the hedge fund managers I ever met had that. I suppose guys desiring raising assets for hedge funds could benefit having it. The most important asset here is your Rolodex though.
