Adding adulting skills into homeroom or advisory periods would help a
ton.

Kids should know how to write a resume, red and green flags in interviews, types of clothes for different professional settings, how to apply for college or professional training, how to change a tire + oil, the bare basics of tools, how to request records, what credit ratings are, what interest rates are, and stocks + bonds + CDs are, what loans and payment schedules are + how the interest works . They don't need to be experts, any of the basics of those could be covered 5 minutes a day over no more than a week and they would have four years to cover them.

Parents used to cover this stuff but a lot no longer do.
