...wanted to take some time off in March to go up to some property they had purchased in Montana to take a look and make some decisions on where they would build their home on the property. Their trip was cut short when they arrived and there was still 4 ft of snow on the ground, making accessing much of their property impossible.
So yeah - there is still snow on the ground in Montana in March. I'm assuming that how much would be determined by the elevation you're talking about. Keep in mind - it snows in SLC in March. So snowing in March isn't all that big of a hurdle for a place further north to pass.
