I won't go into all the details, but let's just say their second year head coach was way in over his head. And yes, I know I'm biased (look at the screen name), but Purdue isn't the perennial bottom dweller a lot of people seem to perceive them as. They're usually around the middle of the Big 10 Conference. Not great but not bad. They were even in the conference championship game a few seasons ago.
The golden era of the Drew Brees and Kyle Orton days are long behind us, but the program has solid fan support. No, they'll never be a Michigan or Ohio State, but there is hope that the program will turn things around. I mean, if Indiana can do it, Purdue can do it.
