The issue in the South is it typically starts as rain
which slowly freezes, giving you a solid sheet of ice, on the roads, before the snow starts accumulating. That's typically something I haven't seen driving other places in the snow. The ice makes things so much harder because your best traction is actually coming from the snow itself.
