Toyota truck that had sat in someone's garage for a decade or so. In the process, the title had been lost. When they went to sell it to my son, they had to have a "salvaged" title issued, even though it was the same owner on the record of the DMV.
When I had moved from Progressive to Allstate, they would not cover the vehicle because of the "salvaged" title. That was 10 years ago. I had to go with another company just for that one vehicle, but then Allstate covered it then.
As I stated, this was talking to two different agents for Allstate, so this isn't my first rodeo and so I know that many times you can get different responses from the same company because people tend to often make policy just because they believe they are right, even if they aren't. I call it "clip-boarding". You give someone a clipboard and they often believe because they have one that they can make policy to whatever they believe is right. I've run into that a lot in my life with people and why I'll often say, "Let me speak to your supervisor.". I just wanted CB to know this could be a possible peril. It's just good to be certain.
