Almost no basketball team in college plays well every night and the fact that we made it a game while being unable to stop 2 of their guys, couldn't hit free throws or 3s should at least tell you that we're better than half the fans are making us sound.

This game was in reach and we threw it away in the final minutes. Lots of ways we should have won but that wasn't working for us. Ok.

These expectations on freshmen draft picks I just don't get. It is historically unreasonable. BYU fans are making this up in their minds. Outside of a couple of players a year most one and done players are not carrying their teams in college. They usually come into themselves after half or even 2/3 of a season. This expectation of AJ next year will be valid, at least that he is dominating a certain amount of games.

I'm sorry if you expected Demin and Kannon would be instant upgrades from the senior Johnson and junior Robinson. There is no logic in that expectation. Demin and Kannon have superior upside and talent but not experience and maturity. They will be way more inconsistent. Pretty ironic too because CB complained a lot about Robinson's inconsistency last year. Even then Robinson was being discussed for the draft last year so the notion that a talented Freshman was going come in and make Robinson's loss a nothing is just silly.

System changes and coaching changes should be an super obvious disruption to any team. We are living that. Its gonna take time. By all means hold me to half a season I could care less. My only point really was it will take time and we are playing in one of the best conferences in the world at this stage. I have no problems with people being frustrated with any game, missing 3s, being terrible from the foul line etc. What is pathetic here is that there is way too much ripping on touted Freshmen talent and questioning whether KY can do his job right. Holy smokes! We have been seeing changes we all wanted for generations of BYU fans but rather than see how that plays out lets judge the end product and question the talents of everyone involved after 2 months of play. I'm hoping we are trying to build something we have never had, not make another NCAA tournament and lose the first game to a lower seed.
