I don't disagree that he has a lot to prove, but the players NBA teams are
drafting in the top 10 are not because they are looking for middling roster guys. They know they can find those guys if they need to. They are looking for guys who either are already looking like stars or who have stand out attributes that could make them an NBA star.

I could absolutely see Demin not panning out but to not see what scouts love, you have to ignore attributes that are immensely rare for a man of his height and length, even in the NBA. First time I saw him play at BYU I was shocked to see a guy with his body dribble and pass the way he does. I recall saying "How did we land this guy?" Even tonight he didn't have a good game but I can recall a drive to the basket and three passes that made my eye's pop wide. It's not even athleticism. It is a unique level of basketball skill that you rarely see. That is what you are drafting.

18 years old, coming off injury still, in his third BIG 12 game and his stats are 4RB, 6AST, 2STL, 2TO and 12pts on 30% shooting. The sky is not falling in on this kid.
