What’s sort of funny about the Tide being so highly ranked in these analytics this year is that not even the most ardent Bama fans here in Tuscaloosa think they’re anywhere near being a top 4 team this year… and most aren’t sure they are even top 4 in the SEC.

Sure Bama blew out some pretty solid teams like LSU, Mizzou, UGA 1st half, and even a blowout road game at Wisconsin.

I think those lopsided wins have gone a LOOOONG way towards the current high efficiency rankings and, when merged with these predictive metrics use of historical success and recruiting rankings, give us a pretty laughable end result of Bama at #4.
