Your best bet is to build tools and services that solve problems. Find a problem you find interesting and build a backend service that can help solve it.

Unfortunately, you'll need to rely heavily on those referrals because your resume will likely get tossed for not having the tech degree. Just the nature of the beast right now. Gone are the days of bootcamps IMO.
