The two ahead of us are still playing in Notre Dame and Texas. For those of us that have been watching since the 80's and 90's that is a crazy stat. Heck for those of us that watched Virginia throw for like 500 yards that is crazy.
Jay Hill no doubt deserves a ton of credit for it. But Jernaro Gilford is a guy we don't talk about enough. Look at the talent at the CB position. Much of this talent came to BYU pre-Hill which means that Gilford was recruiting while Tuiaki/Lamb were doing their thing with the front seven.
I think the safety's can get better in 2024 (Wall was solid, not trying to say he wasn't but the other position was up and down). CB will likely take a step back without Jakob Robinson, yes I think he is the best CB BYU has ever had. But with the guys that Ox listed it will be good again. It is a deep, fast group.
