I think continuity is important in both, but there seems to be a little more wiggle room in basketball
Because the season is long (from a game stand point) and losses aren't as catastrophic as football there seems to be a little more time to gel and come together as a team. I think we saw that with last year's basketball team. They had good continuity but I think were surpassed by other teams at the end of the season as they had more time to gel as a team.
