Funny story about that song:
Raised on classic rock by my dad and he loved The Moody Blues. At a school dance in the late 90s I requested this song and told all my friends how incredible it was and how perfect it would be for a slow dance. The DJ was my math teacher and would let me pretty much run the setlist- and so he played it.

Hundreds of couples pair up and I'm in basking in glory... then the weird poetry comes on at the end and my math teacher DJ doesn't have the wherewithal to realize the song is clearly over and he should cut it off. No one really knows what to do and so, one by one, couples slowly start awkwardly breaking off the dance while that stupid poetry rambles on and on. My friends are getting mad because it's all sorts of weird and half most the in that gym know it's my request.

I pretend like it's normal and make my dance partner endure to the bitter end- we're the last ones standing and she never talks to me again.

Thanks for listening. Had buried this trauma deep until I saw this post.
