Funny to look back in 2021. The Lions were in turmoil and had their dream candidate, Robert Saleh. He was a Detroit
Native and highly regarded by everyone as the next top head candidate. He was the DC for the 49ers stellar defense.
He ultimately spurned the Lions for the Jets job and they were really bummed out.
They then hired the Saints TE coach Dan Campbell who has highly regarded as a player when he was on the Lions but also because his passion and energy for the job during the interview process was evident.
Funny how things work out.
