Crew wakley is an incredible worker and smart athlete. That's what got him this far.

Let's not kid ourselves into thinking he was an elite talent though. The freshman behind him were taking a lot of his reps by the end of the year for a reason. Once they started catching on to Hills system, wakley didn't stand a chance.

I'll never forget watching him pull off that game sealing INT in Waco. Incredible moment to witness live but once Damuni started to catch on, it became obvious he is the guy. Much more physically gifted and making all the plays wakley can make but without many of the mistakes. This is an elite defense in every sense of the word and Wakley needed to go somewhere else to get the snaps he deserves.
