If you looked at all the possibilities to the end the season, a bubble team outcome was the most likely due to various of reasons. With a lower floor and higher ceiling than most BYU teams in the past. This team is better than what they showed yesterday but for the most part is looking like we fall into that most likely outcome. If we are on the right side of the bubble or wrong side will largely be determined how quick can the young guys adjust to B12 play, and how adaptable is KY and the staff throughout the season.
Again, I believe the main goal this season for KY was to get AJ and get Egor and Kanon drafted. Then obviously secondarily have a good season. But I think this season was viewed as foundational for this era of BYU hoops where short-term goals were superseded by long-term ones. Hoping for the best, and the future it bright, but it’s a learning curve for both staff and players that hopefully will not be as present next year.
